Maurice White, the founder of Earth, Wind & Fire, has died at age 74. The horn-driven band was known for 1970s hits such as "Shining Star" and "September.". At the ripe old age of 49, Maurice White and by extension, Earth Wind and Fire wrote the soundtrack of my life. So many songs ministered to my spirit directly and helped form the man and the Being that I am today. Losing Maurice still hurts to this day. A man that I never met in my life, but yet I loved like he was a close family member.
